What is ReadOn?

ReadOn is Cancer Fund for Children’s school reading initiative that encourages pupils to read for pleasure whilst helping to support local children and young people living with cancer. This 2016-17 we are delighted to have EUROSPAR and VIVOXTRA as proud sponsors of ReadOn!

How Does ReadOn Work?

ReadOn can take place any week in the academic calendar. It is ideal for Children’s Book Week running from 31st October to 6th November, and World Book Day in March!

Organising ReadOn is easy, with step by step instructions provided, plus every pupil who takes part receives a bookmark and a pencil as a thank you!

During ReadOn children are sponsored to read for fun at home or in school. Pupils can read anything from comics to poetry, fiction to their favourite sporting star’s biography. Younger children can listen to stories or use picture books making ReadOn ideal for any age group!

Our Schools Fundraiser, Rebecca, can come out to your school both before ReadOn, to introduce the event, and after for a thank you cheque presentation in assembly and photo.

If you would like to discuss the event with Rebecca before going ahead and registering, please don't hesitate to give her a call on 028 9080 5599, or email rebecca@cancerfundforchildren.com.

Cancer Fund for Children

Cancer Fund for Children is the leading charity for children and young people living with cancer in Northern Ireland. We support all children aged 0-24 affected by cancer so we can help them and their families cope with the impact cancer has on their lives. Every week in Northern Ireland, three families will hear the devastating news that their child has been diagnosed with cancer. Cancer Fund for Children understands how crushing this diagnosis can be, and that outside of medical treatment, there is a family life which needs to be rebuilt. Cancer Fund for Children Specialists provide emotional, financial and practical support to the whole family, including brothers or sisters who are often left isolated, frightened and anxious. Our therapeutic short break centre, Daisy Lodge provides a much needed relaxing break for the whole family, giving them time to spend together, relax and recharge their batteries ready for whatever will come next on their cancer journey.
