Event description
Introduction for new volunteers (15:00 - 16:30) and Police training (17:00 - 18:30) for any volunteer

About this Event

Introductory training (15:00 - 16:30)

This training session is aimed at registered Ready For Anything volunteers who haven't previously attended the introductory training session. The session will go over the role of ready for anything volunteers, examples of incidents where you may be deployed, and run through some scenarios. You will also receive your ready for anything high viz, lanyard and grab bag.

Police training (17:00 - 18:30)

Following the introductory training we are offering Police training to any Ready For Anything volunteer.

This session will be delivered by North Yorkshire Police and will cover:

  • Project Servator - aims to deter, detect and disrupt a range of criminal activity, including terrorism, while providing a reassuring presence for the public,
  • See, Check and Notify (SCaN ) - aims to equip you with the tools and knowledge to identify hostile reconnaissance and highlight the importance of being prepared and how these skills can be used in a rest centre,
  • Run, Hide, Tell - guidance for a terrorist attack.

The aim of this session is to give volunteers an overview of one of the responding agencies as well an opportunity to meet the officers involved. This can then be applied to Ready For Anything.
