READY MINDS Health and Wellbeing Coaching for 5 young Black African persons aged 10-24 years old.

About this event

African Development and Advocacy Centre, AFRIDAC (http://afridac.org/) with funding from BTEG is offering a FREE health and wellbeing coaching sessions for 5 young Black African persons aged 10-24 years old. Members of the African community both adults and young people have been severely affected by Covid-19 pandemic. This has caused undue stress and anxiety for young people who have experienced prolong lockdowns at home with unmeasurable pressures.

In response to this need AFRIDAC, through our READY MINDS (Resilience, Energy, Aspiration, Discovery, Yearning) youth project we will be supporting 5 Black African young persons who have been impacted by Covid-19. We will be delivering 8 health and wellbeing coaching sessions led a professional youth coach to help young people understand and manage their emotions and feelings, help them cope with difficult situations, help them overcome their obstacles and negative self-talk and help them explore their greatest passions and interests and discover their inner self. We are hoping after the sessions, the young people will know how to reduce stress and be less overwhelmed, build their self-confidence and self-esteem and make clear choices and decisions.

A qualified youth coach will support 5 young people over 8 weeks online providing one-to-one sessions. The coach will provide a non-judgmental, confidential and trusted accountability space, that will help them gain insight into their desires, inclinations and achieve a higher level of life satisfaction.

Through the grant AFRIDAC will support their personal growth and help them decide on the right path for their future.

Each session will be online for 45 minutes every fortnight.

Session 1 (1-2-1) - Life assessment discussion + Health and Wellness SWOT analysis.

Session 2 (1-2-1) - Understanding and Managing Emotions + Self-confidence and Self-esteem.

Session 3 (1-2-1) - Health and Wellness – Understanding stress and triggers.

Session 4 (Group Coaching) - Empowerment

Session 5 (1-2-1)- Health and Wellness – Emotional needs (Thoughts and feelings).

Session 6 (1-2-1) - Health and Wellness – Behaviours and beliefs.

Session 7 (1-2-1) - Health and Wellness – Fear and anxiety.

Session 8 (Group Coaching) - Goal Setting + Life assessment
