About the event:
An interactive workshop for early years and primary school educators to try a variety of language and communication activities and think about potential use in their classrooms. Following a short introduction to our work and Kirklees Success Centre’s Speech Stars, we will reflect on some of our practical activities and resources.
- Hands-on exploration of easy to set up and low-cost activities
- Focus on the whole class, small groups and individuals
- Reflect on how activities can be adapted for your context
- Explore language learning opportunities backed by evidence
- Engage in discussions with other educators and share good practice
At the end, you will walk away with practical ideas to try in your classroom!
Led by Dr Dimi Kaneva (University of Huddersfield) and Claire Pinkos (Speech Stars, Kirklees Success Centre, Kirklees Council) as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2025.
Suitable for early years educators, teachers, teaching assistants, support staff working in the early years and key stage 1.
