RELATIONSHIPS AND SEX EDUCATION
THE IMPORTANCE OF RSE WITHIN SETTINGS
‘ARE WE REALLY GETTING IT RIGHT?’

This session is aimed at settings that promote RSE. Alternatively for those that support individuals who may require additional support in later years, often following a lack of effective and consistent education. The session will provide an opportunity to reflect on what is currently in place and how this can be improved to provide the best possible outcomes for all. Finally we will update with the latest knowledge to upskill those who may have an active role in the delivery or support within different settings.

Learning Objectives
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

• Gain an understanding of best practice criteria in relation to effective RSE
• Explore and identify ways that current RSE delivery can be enhanced within your current setting
• Refresh/update knowledge and awareness of resources, schemes of work and lesson plans that can be used within settings.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING PERSON CENTRED
"THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX"

This session is a brief introduction, aimed at people in support roles with adults or adolescents who have additional needs, primarily Learning Disabilities or Learning Difficulties, behaviours which may challenge or adaptive communication. Together we will look at the term person centred and what it means, we will guide you through the use of person centred support and how to implement it effectively. Lastly we will look at tools that aid person centred support such as communication, WRAPs which are for individuals with mental illness such as anxiety and depression and how to support optimum wellbeing, also tools that aid easy transitions when there are multiple people supporting to ensure a seamless approach for the individual.

Learning Objectives
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

• Define Person Centred Planning (PCP)?
• Understand who it is for and why it is important
• Know how to implement PCP in everyday support-adapting the task not the person.
• Recognise key tools within PCP:
o -Communication
o -WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan)
o -Circle of support
o -All about me

TRANS 101
THE IMPORTANCE OF SUPPORTING DIVERSITY WITHIN SETTINGS
"TIPS FOR BEING A TRANS ALLY"

We are all unique and require adaptions and support in our own way, however some people find it harder to sit within a setting due to the understanding of their situation by others. It can be very distressing to not feel inclusive within an area such as school, work or around peers. People who are Transgender face many challenges and this session can aid you to become allies in supporting inclusivity. The session will look at individuality and what it means to us all, intersectionality-looking at the fact that we are all made up of many characteristics but we can focus on just one element, Decode some of the terminology that can create barriers, understand how we can be positively promoting wellbeing for individuals “who are” transgender and look at creating an inclusive environment.

Learning Objectives
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

• Understand Individuality
• Know about Intersectionality
• Decode LGBTQ+ identities and Labels
• Find ways to support people to overcome awkwardness
• Know what it means to be trans
• View a definition of terms
• Understand terminology to avoid
• Build an inclusive environment
