After a career in investment banking, Giovanni Gregoratti (MBA 01J) launched a real estate investment and advisory start-up called Aegila Capital Management in early 2017. Backed by global institutional capital, Aegila originates and executes real estate investments across Europe and the UK deploying capital made available by its sponsors and subsequently syndicates part of the equity invested among selected institutional investors on a deal-by-deal basis. Aegila believes that its business model allows it to invest in niches of the market less covered by traditional real estate funds and it allows investors to benefit from a higher degree of control, efficiency and alignment of interest compared to traditional funds. Giovanni will share the account of Aegila’s journey to date in an interactive session.

Giovanni is the CEO of Aegila Capital Management. Prior to joining Aegila, he was a Managing Director and Co-Head of EMEA Real Estate and Lodging M&A team at Citi where he was responsible for the origination and execution of real estate investment banking transactions in EMEA. Giovanni joined Citi in 2001 and prior to that he worked for Bank of America and Bankers Trust in London and Milan.
