About the show
Rear View is a moving adventure about a woman’s life led by performance poets Cecilia Knapp and Jemima Foxtrot. Reflections, predictions and observations blur the line between reality and fiction.
Take your seat on IOU Theatre’s Rear View bus for an interactive theatre and performance poetry show through the streets of Eltham. Onboard you’ll experience an incredible 360 soundscape through special headphones, enabling you to follow the drama as it plays out in front of you.
Cecilia Knapp and Jemima Foxtrox will perform alternate shows.
Recommended for ages 11+
Headphones will be allocated on arrival.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
This interactive performance begins with a life drawing class - don't worry, you don't need to have any artistic ability (!). However, due to partial non-sexual nudity in this scene, and some non-sexual adult themes in the narrative, Rear View is recommended for ages 11+.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The performance begins at the Eltham Centre on Archery Road. There is limited parking at the centre, including 4 disabled parking spaces. We recommend you travel by public transport and the Eltham Centre is served by buses: B16, 124, 126, 132, 160, 321, 286. Alternatively it's a short walk from Eltham Train Station and there's also bike storage on site.
What can I bring to the event?
Most of the performance takes place on an open bus so please bring weather appropriate layers. It will not be possible to use an umbrella in the event of rain so please don't rely on one to keep you dry - a wet weather coat is advised! No food or drink is permitted on the bus.
What's the refund policy?
Tickets are non-refundable except in the event of a performance being cancelled.
Refunds will not be issued same day.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
We will have an attendee list but if you bring your tickets it will speed things up for you on arrival.
What if it rains?
The performance may be able to continue in light rain. However, it is at the discretion of GDIF to postpone or cancel the performance in the event of bad weather.
