Join us on May 16th at at 5.30 at the Inigo Rooms, Somerset House East Wing, London WC2R 1LA for an evening of celebration as we showcase the 'Rebel By Default' Exhibition.
From February to March of this year, several courageous women living with HIV joined four of our sessions, delving into themes of identity, rebelliousness, healthcare, relationships, drag, inspiration, change, and more, culminating in the creation of ‘Power Bags’. These bags, small textile pouches containing objects linked to our lived experiences and our awareness of power as women with HIV, were crafted throughout the process.
The underlying belief is that we are all inherently powerful, and our life experiences sometimes obscure or activate that power, making it stronger and more visible.
The concept of the Power Bag originates from the work of the Dutch Community Performance Group Women Connected.
The evening will feature panel discussions with some of our women and researchers, encouraging the audience to Listen Louder.
Refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there
