Rebellion #10 - The (almost) Spring meetup
Event Information
Description
With re:LOADED – the developer unconference, just around the corner we’re changing the focus of our first Rebellion meetup of 2015 away from specific web design and development topics and instead spending a little more time on more business and creative disciplines.
We’ve invited three awesome speakers with a web or creative background to come and share their experiences, ideas, and in one case even test some samples (now you can’t normally say that about web design talks!).
1. Keir Whitaker
Keir is the UK based Shopify Designer Advocate and co-host of web industry podcast The Back to Front Show. He regularly writes about, and shares links on, ecommerce, the web industry, podcasting & travel on his personal web site as well as contributing regularly to industry publications includingSmashing Magazine, Tuts+ and Web Designer Depot.
2. Dulcie Fulton
Dulcie has run Bluish, a small web design studio based in Ludlow, since 1996. By day she designs and builds simple and engaging websites and brand identities. By night she can be found at Mostly Flat, her letterpress workshop, where she designs and prints for pleasure and profit. When she’s not doing that, nor hunting down new acquisitions, she teaches the fundamentals of letterpress printing to individuals or small groups. She also co-founded and organises The Eclectic Sofa, a twice-monthly casual get-together for local creative folk.
3. Antonio Roberts
Antonio Roberts is a new-media artist and curator based in Birmingham. Working in association with institutions including Vivid Projects, Fierce Festival and Birmingham Open Media he curates projects that focus on DIY culture, hacking, science, digital art and emerging artistic practices. He is currently artist in residence at the University of Birmingham where he is researching copyright and the reuse and remixing of archive material.
And as well as all of this creative goodness that will inspire you to do even more awesome stuff there will also be time for you to share any news or announcements you may have with the ShropGeek community. What more could you want?
This promises to be a truly fantastic evening so why not come and join us? Full details can be found on our website at shropgeek.co.uk
