Description

We're bringing together experts to discuss how high streets can adapt in order to stay relevant in today's tech-savvy society. With more and more shops closing down, old behemoths entering into administration, and chains struggling to compete with online channels, is it really the death of the high street as the media likes to report? Or does 'out with the old' actually bring new opportunities for those entities that are brave and creative. We will explore how the role of the town centre will need to evolve from a commercial / transaction-based environment, to one that serves a deeper purpose and society at large.

At this breakfast event we will:

  • Look at how high streets can bring communities together to improve social cohesion, health, and wellbeing

  • Explore how technology in a physical retail experience can improve sustainability

  • Ask how high streets could provide a central point of action and change to encourage connection, collaboration, support and discovery

  • Explore the role hight streets need to play to be help us to be more environmentally sustainable and responsible with resources

Our panel of speakers will each be sharing their unique visions of the future. Join us to debate and discuss potential designs for the future and leave with some exciting and interesting perspectives on the future of the high street.
