About this event

Community • City & Town

This walk explores the plans to demolish much of central Brixton in the 1970s and takes you on a tour of two adjacent neighbourhoods. One was largely rebuilt in the 1970s, and the other was saved from the wrecking ball, where Victorian houses were largely refurbished. Led by life-long Brixton resident Alan Piper of the Brixton Society. Alan led one of the campaigns to fight the demolition of huge swathes of Brixton in the 1970s.
