Hands-on practical day for recently qualified nurses covering anaesthesia, dermatology, bladder ultrasound and suturing.

This practical day is designed specifically for recently qualified veterinary nurses and focuses on building confidence in core clinical skills through hands-on learning.

You can attend this event for free by joining the recently qualified nurse scheme.

The day will include:

• Anaesthesia practical – monitoring, patient safety & best practice
• Dermatology nursing – common conditions & practical approaches
• Bladder ultrasound practical – imaging skills & patient handling
• CPR practical – what to do when the worst happens
• Bandaging practical – how to avoid complications

Part of Langford Academy’s Recently Qualified Nurse Scheme, this practical day is open to veterinary nurses in the early years of their career, regardless of route of qualification. It offers a supportive environment to consolidate skills, ask questions, and learn alongside peers.

The course is expected to run from 09:00–16:00 on the Langford Campus. Timings, topics, and session content are subject to change, with final details shared closer to the event.
