About this event

Welcome to our event where we will explore the important topic of recognizing dying and providing end-of-life care, as well as recognise your own needs and the support you can access for you and your patients.

Join us at the Arthur Easton Centre for a session filled with insightful discussions and practical tips on how to support individuals during this sensitive time.

This session is open to registered nurses working in the Sussex ICB area, and will be facilitated by our Clinical Nurse Specialists.

Fully funded by NHS Sussex, this session is open to all Sussex employees in health and social care.

If you are based outside of Sussex, a £50 charge applies.

The session will cover issues including:

  • Understand and utilise appropriate tools to support clinical decision making.
  • Understand how to recognise when a patient is approaching the last days of life.
  • Understand the importance of thinking ahead (Advanced Care Planning) and what this involves.
  • Understand the importance of communicating changes with carers and other clinicians.
  • Being aware of the reversible causes of deterioration and when it would be appropriate to escalate to acute services.
  • How to manage a “rapid” deterioration and ensure appropriate action taken, including appropriate use of “Just in Case” medication.

Places are limited, so register now to secure your spot! Please note that we will require your NMC Pin number to attend.
