Short Introductory training session aimed at raising awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE).

This will include exploration of:

  • What is CSE? (including ways in which young people may be exploited)

  • Understanding vulnerability and risk

  • Myths and stereotypes

  • Links to absconding and young people going missing

  • Trafficking

  • CSE and boys

  • Online safety and technology

  • Understanding consent (including The Law)

  • Dealing with disclosures & the reporting process

  • The work Barnardo’s does

This session is aimed at anybody working with children and young people and would be particularly useful for:

  • Youth & Community groups

  • Volunteers & Sessional Workers

  • Non Specialist Counselling Staff

  • Teachers & Teaching Assistants

  • Midwives & Health Visitors

  • Social Workers - Trainee/newly qualified

  • Foster Carers

  • Staff from children centres and residential units

This session is being run in tandem with the Preventing Radicalisation workshop. Therefore attendees will have the opportunity to receive training on both issues if they stay for both sessions.
