Reconciling approaches to
social impact analysis
A SIAA and ECSP Event
Wednesday 11 April 2012
Lisa Jordan, Executive Director, Bernard van Leer Foundation
Karen Maas, Researcher, ECSP
Andreas Rickert, Chief Executive, Phineo, and SIAA Chairman
Charles Erkelens, Chief Executive, ECSP (Chair)
You are invited to a free evening seminar on how to create consensus
around social impact analysis approaches, jointly hosted by the
Social Impact Analysts Association (SIAA) and the Erasmus Centre
for Strategic Philanthropy (ECSP).
Social impact analysis is a notoriously fragmented discipline, but
consensus is increasingly emerging on what good practice looks
like and what principles should guide the work. How can we build
upon this to find common ground between the academic, consultant
and non-profit perspectives on - and language for - social impact?
At the event, Lisa Jordan, Executive Director at the Bernard van Leer
Foundation, will explain the foundation’s approach to research and
evaluation; Andreas Rickert, Chief Executive of impact consultancy
Phineo, will discuss Phineo's methodology; and Karen Maas, Researcher
at ECSP, will speak to the centre's academic approachto social impact
analysis. The discussion and a half hour Q&A will be chaired by Charles
Erkelens, Chief Executive of ECSP.
The event will take place between 5pm and 7pm on Wednesday 11th
April on the 11th Floor of H Building at the University of Rotterdam. It
is free to attend and will conclude with networking drinks.
