Reconnect London Summer Conference 2022
Date and time
Please join us for this in-person educational conference, which addresses the question: What do young Londoners need from their schools now?
About this event
The 2022 Reconnect London summer conference will be hosted by Allen & Overy and will take place on Friday 24th June 9.30am-1pm.
We are delighted to welcome as keynote speaker Joanne McCartney, London's Deputy Mayor for Children and Families, and other expert speakers and panellists including:
Sarah Bibi - academic researcher and lead author of ‘London Learners, London Lives’ report
David Boyle CBE - CEO, Dunraven Educational Trust
Claire Burton - Regional Schools Commissioner and incoming London Regional Director
Jo Dibb - former Executive Headteacher, Islington Futures Federation
Zulum Elumogo - Advance HE
Sam Freedman - Senior Fellow at the Institute of Government and Senior Advisor to Ark Schools
Dr Vanessa Ogden - CEO, Mulberry Schools Trust
Gail Tolley - Strategic Director for Children and Young People at Brent Council and chair of the Association of Directors of Children’s Services educational achievement policy committee
Becca Weighell - Fair Education Alliance
At the conference, we will be screening a short film about the experiences of young people in east London during the Covid-19 pandemic, and sharing the work of our youth engagement strand, led by the Fair Education Alliance.
We will also be launching the first research report from our Reconnect London Knowledge Hub, 'London Learners, London Lives'. This report explores the knowledge base about disadvantage in education, looking at the implications of the post-pandemic context for young vulnerable and disadvantaged Londoners.
We will also share the findings from our Innovation Lab project and hear from the leading London headteachers involved with this initiative.
