Reconnect Mindfulness - Mindful Origami Wreathmaking

Magnetic Ideals are excited to announce this workshop as part of a free training and skills sessions programme to develop new skills and help build community through creativity and confidence building. The programme is here to help you Reconnect with your life and purpose, and we look forward to sharing this journey with you!

What is the workshop about?

Use simple origami techniques to create a decorative wall hanging. Choose from a wide selection of patterned paper. Make time for your self-care using mindful creativity to pause from your everyday lives. Taking time to slow down and be in a ‘state of flow’ while creating is a lovely form of creative meditation.

Repetitive techniques are great for mindfulness and for your wellbeing. Take this opportunity to pause from your everyday routine and calm your mind.

This workshop is run by experienced facilitator Saj Fareed please contact saj@magneticideals.org if you have any queries.

The event is run by Magnetic Ideals, it is taking place in the Loft Room of the Cornerstone Community Centre, which is wheelchair accessible.

We would like to say a huge thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund for making this project possible! Learn more about the Reconnect! project here

Magnetic Ideals are a collective of self-employed artists, researchers and activists running projects and providing support, consultancy, research and training, for organisations and individuals working in the arts for community interest and for social sustainability. We run projects that use creative and artistic ways of bringing communities together to create social change, campaign for social justice and find ways of locally and nationally challenging the climate crisis. Regarding activist work, we have provided specialist consulting and training for Students’ Unions and Research Students, and other campaigning bodies, including coaching, setting up student-led research teams, officer training, campaign support, events management, research and analysis, and running workshops for activists on collective care.
