Event description
Funding and philanthropy has a critical role to play in moving us forward into better futures but some of its tools need re-imagining.

About this event

Change is changing.

The rules need to keep changing as well.

Yet the prevailing logic of so many aspects of funding, social finance and philanthropy remain the same.

Focussed initially on a UK context, Indy Johar and Cassie Robinson, with a different guest each time, will explore some of the foundational aspects of funding that they believe need changing (or completely re-imagining!) if we are ever to fully realise the potential of philanthropic and social finance.

Questions that they have been asking together and plan to cover through the course of these In Conversations include:

How could we be thinking about impact in 2021 and beyond?

How could we be thinking about accountability in 2021 and beyond?

How could we be thinking about measurement and evidence in 2021 and beyond?

How could we be thinking about logic models and Theories of Change in 2021 and beyond?

How could we be thinking about grant and programme design - timeframes, size of grants, criteria etc in 2021 and beyond?

How could we be thinking about shared infrastructure (data, intelligence, foresight etc) in 2021 and beyond?

How could we be thinking about engagement and communications in 2021 and beyond?

We'll be finalising what topic we will be covering on which date, but expect them to run roughly in the order as set out above. The other guests will be announced as we confirm them.

This blog post is also a helpful precursor to the conversations.
