Recording and sound engineering with Mike Vass
This event is your chance to learn from the best! Join us in Balquhidder for a hands-on series of workshops with the talented musician and sound engineer, Mike Vass. This 3.5 day retreat will show you how to record your own music making, cover the basics of mixing and mastering tracks and introduce you to a few tricks of the trade to make your recordings sound as professional as possible. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience already, this event is perfect for anyone looking to enhance their skills. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to pick the brain of a true expert!
Day 1 will be focussed on equipment and technology and the development of guide tracks. On Day 2 there will be 6 x 1hr recording slots with Mike to caputure your music. Day 3 will be all about the editing and mixing processes that happen once you have your track recorded.
This will be a small retreat with just 6 recording slots available. These slots can be filled by solos, duos or trios so a great chance to work together with your favourite musical pals.
It is free to register interest at this stage and we will be in touch with everyone who feels they may wish to attend to find out more about you / your group and whether this course will be a good fit for you. If you decide to go ahead and confirm a place for yourself we would ask you to confirm with a BACs payment at a later date.
We are selling this event by recording slot. We have 6 slots available. Each slot is £500-600. The actual amount will depend on composition of your group. So to be clear this amount is shared between indiviudals if they choose to record together in duos or trios.
There is also an option to just attend as a sound engineer (i.e. someone who doesn't want to record). There are limited spots for this ticket and the price for this would be £270.
Does not include accommodation.
Includes dinner on two nights - plan is to head out to a local pub for the third night.
Fin Moore will be on hand to lend support to prepare for the recording process and help with ideas for arrangement if need be.
