A major new running event for East Anglia will be held on 30/07/17 in aid of Focus12, the Bury St Edmund’s based addiction & rehab charity.
The event festival will comprise of a 12 kilometre and half marathon trail and road routes, while youngsters can join in too with a family route also available. Funds raised will be used to help those seeking or already in recovery.
The charity is working in partnership with events management organisation HaverSports to deliver its first major fundraising event ‘RecoverRace’.This will be the perfect challenge for novices and seasoned runners alike, comprising of three runs of varying lengths to encourage everyone to get involved and to raise much-needed funds for the charity on Sunday 30 July 2017.
HaverSports, which will be delivering the event, has successfully delivered four major running events and five triathlon festivals since its launch in 2014, attracting over 1,800 athletes and raising over £20,000 for local good causes. The races included in this festival will be accurately measured and a UK Athletics licence will be sought, making them suitable for runners of all ages and abilities. All races will be chip timed and there will be medals for all finishers, with trophies for category winners.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Parking will be available on site.
Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?
15 for the 12k and 17 for the half marathon. The family route is open to all.
What facilities are available?
Toilets and a bag drop will be available. There will be food served on site.
Is there a route map? This will be available shortly - the half marathon will be 2 laps of the 12k (with one lap shorter).
Is there parking accessible throughout the event?
How is it timed?
All the races will be chip timed with your results available immediately after you finish.
Can I register on the day?
You can enter at registration on Saturday or Sunday, subject to availability of places. However, our best rates are on offer for those entering in advance, with on-day entry more expensive, so we'd advise entering in advance.
What do I get from entering? You'll get a fully supported race experience including a medal, food and water at the finish with your times available immediately. T shirts and race belts are also available for purchase. If you win your category, there will also be a trophy.
Is it certified? Yes, we are applying for a UK Athletics race licence and will have our courses measured (although they will be classified as multi-terrain and measured by GPS).
Is there a discount for running club members? Yes, there is a £2 discount for UKA members.
