Event description

Description

First it was skills, then it was competencies, and now it’s strengths… what’s next? Our money is on mindset! Microsoft’s top recruitment attribute is ‘mindset’, and this short course will divulge the essential theory, practical applications, and how you can prepare your students for anything that a recruitment process might throw at them!

By the end of the workshop you will:

  • Understand mindset theory and context
  • Confidently distinguish between growth mindset and fixed mindset
  • Understand how mindset theory can be applied to job seeking and recruitment
  • Take away a selection of exercises that you can run to demonstrate mindset attributes

Who should attend?

  • Graduate recruiters
  • Careers consultants
  • University staff focussing on student development

The session will be delivered by Kylie Cook & Jane Clark, Gradconsult

Jane has extensive global leadership experience in graduate resourcing and development, and for the past twenty years has been responsible for building and driving strategic talent plans to attract, recruit, develop and retain best in class junior talent. She has worked in a variety of roles within the global investment banking and financial services industry with companies such as Credit Suisse, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch and Barclays. She is a regular speaker and panellist at external HR conferences and events and has won over 25 external industry awards in a wide range of categories from Employer Branding to Innovation and Diversity and Social Mobility.

Kylie has recruited and developed hundreds of graduates into over 400 SMEs since joining Gradconsult in January 2014, and has spent the last two years project managing the award winning RISE internship programme. More recently, Kylie has been working on employer engagement strategies and student engagement projects with a range of universities. Kylie frequently delivers employer training, coaching and mentoring sessions, and a range of talent management services including advert writing, application screening and assessment centres.

Feedback from participants on Kylie’s previous courses:

“In the workshops Kylie brings the case studies and exercises to life, she engages and tailors her approach with each delegate and the buy-in she receives is reflected in the success of her work.”

“I honestly couldn’t fault anything. The content was some of the most useful and clear I’ve come across, the passion within the organisation really shone through”.

“Such a motivating and informative course. The content was good but how you delivered it was excellent…What really benefited me was hearing your ideas from a university, employer and third party perspective. Well worth the money and more importantly the time”
