Your entire talent acquisition strategy hinges on finding new hires that will make an impact within the existing team. You want candidates who will make positive change but also work together as part of the team you have already created. You want candidates with integrity, who share your organisational values; who are who they say they are; have the  with the right to work in the UK and the required qualifications and experience they claim.  So how do you make sure the candidates you are recruiting are the ‘right fit’ for your business whilst ensuring you are recruiting without discrimination and ensuring that you are equipped to tackle candidate fraud through lawful employee vetting?


In our previous Recruitment Event we shared with you how to maximise digital recruitment and develop your employer brand. The forthcoming seminar will help you broaden your knowledge on the legal and practical issues within recruitment to make sure you are hiring for fit into your business, looking in particular at:-

 

  • Challenges of candidate fraud and employee vetting
  • Recruiting without discrimination
  • What recruiters need to know with Brexit Looming?

 

Our first speaker, is Paul Gleave, Sales and Marketing Director from Verifile: Paul Gleave first stared to work with HR professionals in 2000 when creating new online products to aid quality recruitment processes.

 

Paul is proud he doesn’t have a degree from a degree mill, however he has worked within both blue chip and SME’s recruiting diverse personnel. This is where first-hand experiences of CV fraud has led him to now work with the quality background screening company Verifile Ltd from its base in Bedfordshire. Paul is now launching Verifile’s new branding and growth plan to ensure quality background checking becomes the norm not the exception.

 

Paul will be looking at the challenges of candidate fraud and employee vetting.

  • Challenges of background checks on social media.  Legitimate motives or not, be aware of legal dangers. 
  • Verifying international employment history.  Expectations and process pitfalls
  • Challenges of vetting for education fraudDegree Mills a billion-dollar industry

 

Our second speaker is Adam Lambert, a Partner at Kingsley Napley LLP: Adam is a Partner at Kinsley Napley who advises both senior executives and employers. He highly experienced in dealing with boardroom disputes or other disputes of high value or where reputations are at stake.

He has managed large scale redundancies for employers and is often involved in matters with a strong international element.  Adam has particular expertise in complex discrimination and whistleblowing claims for both employers and employees.  He frequently gives lectures and provides bespoke training on employment related subjects to directors, HR professionals, in-house lawyers and fellow employment law practitioners.

Adam will be sharing with us his knowledge on recruiting without discrimination and covering:

  • Managing the managers
  • Advertisements
  • Anticipating and dealing with disabilities
  • Pay negotiations and equality

 Adam will deliver case studies for us to look at and discuss on our coffee break and will finish with exploring the key lessons from these case studies. 

 

Our last speaker is Kim Vowden, an Associate at Kingsley Napley LLP: Kim is an immigration lawyer at Kingsley Napley LLP. He advises on all areas of UK immigration and nationality law, with a focus on business immigration and European free movement. His clients include financial, media and technology companies. Kim joined Kingsley Napley in 2015 after completing a PhD in sociology and working as a public policy researcher. Over the past 18 months he has been busy advising EU citizens and their employers on how to prepare for Brexit.

Kim will be educating us what recruiters need to know with Brexit changing the way we will recruit.
