SHORT COURSE OVERVIEW

As we move towards a more sustainable future, find ways of repurposing. There is a growing trend of producing garments that are more ethically sustainable from new designers to the big names of high fashion. There is a serious new market in wearing pre loved clothes


COURSE DESCRIPTION

The aim of this course is to learn how to create a new garment or accessory from old ruined clothing that would typically be discarded.

The course starts typically with a series of fashion and textile workshops, resulting in the creation of your own unique garment.

After completing your final design, you will be introduced to different styling and photography techniques used in fashion editorial.


What will I learn?

Different upcycling techniques (applique, embroidery)

Textile techniques (heat press)

3D modelling on the mannequin

Design development

Fashion illustration (collage)

Techniques in Photography and styling


What is included: All materials (except garments)


What is not included:

A garment/garments that you no longer used (shirts, jeans are good)

Pens and pencils and sketchbook (if you have one)

Phone for taking pictures
