This event is part of the Yorkshire Festival of Story.
What if the world around you was already full of instruments just waiting for you to play them?
In this joyful, hands-on workshop for 9 to 14 year olds, creativity meets sustainability as you transform everyday recycled materials into your own unique musical instruments.
This isn’t just about making things; it’s about discovering the music hidden in unexpected places and understanding how creativity can be a tool for environmental change. Along the way, you’ll build your creative spirit, develop problem-solving skills, and gain the confidence that comes from making and playing something with your own hands.
You’ll work together, swap ideas, and experience the magic of turning “waste” into rhythm.
You’ll leave with an instrument that’s entirely yours, the memory of a shared musical moment, and perhaps the courage to keep banging the drum for change.
Please note that due to space constraints in the Joinery, everyone who attends will need to purchase a ticket.
