Join us for a circular walk that starts from Redbourn Common (Herts) and will take us through lovely views of the area and along the river Ver, one of our precious chalk streams.
The walk will be around 7 km (4.5 miles) and will be led by one of our most engaged and experienced citizen scientists. The route includes several points of interest such as the Redbournbury Watermill & Bakery, probably built on the site of a Domesday mill, where flour has been ground here for over 900 years. the Grade II listed Doolittle Mill House, and the watercress beds.
This is an easy stile-free walk on good paths with a number of gates. There’s one climb towards the golf course. (total ascent 230ft/70m)
Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
There are plenty of cafes and pubs in Redbourn, but not on the walk, so feel free to bring warm drinks and snacks.
The meeting point will be at Redbourn Common AL3 7DB (Grid ref: TL 103119- What3Words: coach.curiosity.plan). The walk will start and end at same place.
The car park is beside the cricket pavilion, Redbourn Common AL3 7DB. More parking availability also around the common and please carshare if you can.
There are bus stops along Redbourn High Street. Please check www.traveline.info for services.
