Description

Workshops dates:

14th August 9.30am-12pm

21st August 9.30am-12pm

A new school term is just around the corner. Your aim is to engage your students in activities and avoid problem behaviour interfering with teaching time. Understanding behaviour and positive behaviour strategies will help you. This workshop is split in two. One morning you will learn about identifying children who need support and how to target challenging behaviour from the start. You will then have a week to practice taking data. During the following session we will review your data, help you analyse them and suggest behaviour strategies for these children.

Learning Objective: Education staff (teachers, guidance teachers, support staff...) will learn how to target challenging behaviour in the classroom and prevent reoccurence in the future by using data based decisions.

Workshop 1. - Identification and Assessment

  • Identify students who require support
  • Create an environment which encourages and acknowledges expected behaviours
  • Define problem behaviour and measure it objectively
  • Learn to identify the functions of behaviour

Workshop 2. - Analysing your assessments and putting strategies in place
