Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust are delighted to announce that we will be hosting our first CPD event on Reducing Restrictive Interventions, Violence and Challenging Behaviour on 23 May 2019. This is a full day event taking place at the Novotel Hotel, offering free car parking, lunch and refreshments.

The training will be split into three sections including an introduction to Positive and Safe and how it works; how it relates to your role and what you can do to reduce violence and challenging behaviour.

Topics will include:

  1. Positive & Safe - Dr Keith Reid, Consultant Psychiatrist
  2. Safewards & culture change - Geoff Brennan, Star Wards
  3. Developing safer services - Gail Kay, Project Director
  4. Initiatives to reduce restrictive interventions - Guy Cross, Mental Health Policy Officer
  5. Case studies and legal principles - Dr Oliver Lord, Medico-Legal Advisor, MDU
  6. Examples of reducing interventions in subspecialties - NTW MDT approach
  7. Making SMART goals to reduce ward incidents - Talk 1st Team

An early bird rate of £60 per head is being offered to all applications processed before the 31st March 2019. Thereafter he charge will be £99 per delegate.
