How do investors reposition hotels during the Covid-19 pandemic? REEF alumni Paul and Nick, who have co-invested in various real estate projects in the UK and Ireland, will share their insights. Based on a case study of a hotel re-positioning project, you will learn about real estate investment and risk management during the pandemic.

Speakers:

Nick Cullen is the CEO of BCP Capital, a real estate investor and asset manager with over €900m AUM in the UK and Ireland. Nick has grown BCP from a medium scale family office to an institutionally backed operating platform over the last 10 years. Prior to BCP Nick worked in the Investment Banking Division of Lehman Brothers where he was on the Real Estate Investment Banking Team focusing on UK M&A. Nick has an MSc in Real Estate Economics and Finance from the London School of Economics (class of 2005), a BA in Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin, and a BSc in Environmental, Civil, and Structural Engineering from Trinity College Dublin.

Paul Nearchou is a Director and Head of Northern Europe at Deutsche Finance International, a real estate focused private equity group with over €2bn of assets under management. He has over €1.5bn of transactional experience across multiple real estate sectors in the UK, Ireland, Netherlands and the Nordics. In 2020, Paul was named as a rising star of European Real Estate, an achievement for his successful acquisitions to date. Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate in the investment team at Patron Capital, focusing on the execution and asset management of opportunistic/value-add asset-backed investments across Europe. He began his career as an analyst at Goldman Sachs in London. He holds a first-class Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Nottingham and achieved a distinction in his postgraduate degree in Real Estate Economics and Finance from the London School of Economics.
