Referencing - Good Scholarship Practices
Fri 29 April 2016, 14:00 – 15:00 BST
This workshop will help to reference your work accurately, show which parts of your essay are your own work and how to be clear about when words or ideas belong to others. The aim is that after the session, you should not leave yourself open to work being regarded as plagiarism or poor scholarship.
The good news is that once you understand the rules of the game, it is fairly easy to stop yourself slipping up. In this workshop, I will help you formulate an understanding of the rules by looking at real-life examples of how students report information from source texts, which are or are not acceptable, and why. There will also be a chance for you to ask any questions that will help your own understanding.
This workshop is primarily set up for those asked to attend by academic staff in SECS. If you wish to attend but have not been directly invited, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to join a waiting list.
