Reflecting on the global antibiotic resistance crisis: Prof Kate Gould
Professor Gould is the Lead Public Health Microbiologist for Public Health England and Honorary Consultant Microbiologist at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. In addition to her laboratory and infection control commitments, Professor Gould has an active clinical profile, advising on antibiotic therapy, microbiological management and post-operative management of heart and lung patients. In addition to thoracic transplantation, Professor Gould’s interests include hepato-biliary surgery, antibiotic combinations and water microbiology.
Professor Gould is a Senior Editor for the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy; a member of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, Royal College of Pathologists and the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy.
