Reflective group for people in ministry, 22 June 2020
Event Information
Description
These sessions are an opportunity to pause and talk together — about how people are feeling, what’s going on, where God is in all of this, how people are dealing with the lack of human contact, and the sense of “keeping a lid on it”?
Facilitated by people experienced in spiritual direction, supervision and ministry, these sessions offer a confidential space to think about how our roles are changing (not least with many things now happening online) and where God is in all of this. The approach sees spiritual direction as helping people explore their experience of God, and supervision as helping them explore their experience of their role.
The last few months have brought significant changes for people in ministry — working from home, maintaining pastoral care by phone or online, meeting practical needs in the community and offering online worship. Hardly out of sight are the issues raised by people's fear of infection and the very real effects of the lockdown on people's livelihoods. We're needing to find new resources to work in less-familiar ways — which also carries an invitation to encounter God differently.
This event will be run six times (and may continue beyond then). As this is about reflecting on current experience, people will gain most from attending regularly. Each session is self-contained and people are welcome to attend for whichever sessions suit them. Please book separately for each event:
