Event description

Description

Reflective Practice Groups have been developed with the aim of improving the care and support available to clergy and as a structured process of professional development.

These groups are an opportunity for five or six clergy, meeting for two and a half hours every month with a professional facilitator, to explore issues arising out of their work and ministry.

Reflective Practice Groups are supported by the Senior Staff and Training Team and Pastoral Care Adviser. They are based on the premise that clergy, with others from the caring professions, need to develop skills as reflective practitioners to improve and strengthen their work. There is strong evidence that this process happens when practitioners work together regularly, on their actual issues, in the context of a group, and where professional facilitation is part of that group process. In light of the isolation and the increasing stresses that many clergy feel in their working life, supervised group working also has the capacity to provide important support outside of the authority structures of the Church.

This is an invitation for you to attend a Taster Session for the Reflective Practice Groups for Clergy and meet a group facilitator. We encourage you to come to this workshop to see what is on offer as part of the wellbeing for clergy in our diocese, and to take part in what can in itself be a valuable experience The group(s) will start in September

The taster session is Wednesday 3rd July, 9.30am coffee for a prompt 10am start
