Take some valuable time away from your operational responsibilities to reflect on your supervision practice and learn new skills.

In this course, we work together in the virtual learning environment. Although ‘distanced’ from each other, it will be interactive, and you will connect and learn with your trainer and peers. Together, we focus on how to get the most out of supervision sessions and use them to develop staff and deepen their practice. We build on what you already know to make your supervision practice more reflective and productive.

Structure: 4-hour virtual classroom with an experienced supervision trainer who has managed children’s homes. Participants will receive a handbook and a certificate of attendance.

Learning Outcomes:

• Explore the six principles of reflective supervision and how these can be implemented in the supervision process.
• To explore and understand the benefits of reflection in supervision
• To understand and be able to apply the Reflective Learning Cycle model to the supervision of staff.
• To know how to build a reflective culture in your teams.
• To learn through practicing reflective supervision skills including a reflective group process.
• To have access to evidence-based tools to support effective supervision.
• To know how to put learning from the session into practice.

Delivery:

The virtual classroom is hosted on Zoom. Participants need access to a laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone, a quiet, private space to join from, and the ability to access Zoom.

A certificate will be provided.
