Reforming the Mexican oil sector

The LSE Latin America and Caribbean Centre (LACC) is pleased to welcome Mr. Juan Pablo Newman Aguila, a former LSE alumnus and Chief Financial Office (CFO) to Pemex. Mr Newman will present a talk, entitled Reforming the Mexican oil sector. The event will take place at Wolfson Theatre in the New Academic Building, a map of the campus can be found here http://www.lse.ac.uk/mapsAndDirections/campusMap.pdf The talk will be chaired by Professor Gareth Jone, Director for LACC.
Mr Newman has been CFO at Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) since January 2016. Previously, Mr. Newman served as CFO of Nacional Financier, and as Deputy Director General of Debt Issuance of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit and Director of Risk Management of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit. Mr Newman has a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and a master’s degree in Operational Research from the London School of Economics.
Gareth Jones is Professor of Urban Geography, Director of the Latin America and Caribbean Centre, a part of the Institute for Global Affairs, and Associate Member of the International Inequalities Institute.
The event is FREE and open to the public, however pre-registration is required for admission. Seats will be allocated to ticket-holders on a first-come, first-served basis.Please arrive promplty to avoid disappointment.
