A two part practical workshop that helps us see conflict in a new way – from a team problem to acknowledging different ways of thinking
About this event
What would it look like to be able to develop and practice skills to help explore conflict and difficult situations in a safe and consistent way?
When we recognise that we are not communicating well it can show up in a variety of ways – feeling anxious, frustrated or upset, avoiding a colleague or a particular conversation, or just generally not enjoying work. This can lead to an inability to make decisions together, which is problematic for any organisation.
But developing the communication tools to be able to deal with conflicts as they arise are essential skills that we can all learn and practice. Studies have shown that communicating clearly and honestly with each other leads to a happier, more fulfilling workplace.
And at Building OUT, we have long recognised the value of good communication, and have been on a journey together to raise our awareness of our own unconscious patterns of behaviour and change them for the better.
These workshops gave us the opportunity to practice voicing personal and work-related experiences and thoughts, ones we perhaps were likely to overlook and bury. We found that when our team was in a space where everyone was free to mess up, get lost, or re-phrase, many pivotal conversations came out of this, both for us as individuals, but also us as a team

What happens if I can’t come?
We understand that life happens, things change and sometimes it is necessary to postpone or cancel your attendance. We also hope and expect you to make every effort to avoid this.
If you find yourself in a tricky position, reach out to us so we can have a chat and see how we can meet both of our needs (ours being to fill the spaces on our workshops). Typically, we will happily accommodate postponements if we are given sufficient notice to fill your place. Even at short notice, if you find someone else to take your place then we are usually happy to make a swap.
We do reserve the right to charge for cancellation if necessary, but will do our best to work with you to find a solution.
