Refresher Traning - Bookbug for the Home
About the Training
This course offers support to practitioners who are already using the Bookbug for the Home approach with families. This course will develop the skills and knowledge from delegates’ initial Bookbug for the Home training.
Course Aims and Objectives
This course will:
- Update Bookbug for the Home practitioners on the Bookbug Programme including evaluation findings
- Refresh practitioners practice with new song, rhyme and book suggestions
- Support delegates engaging reluctant families
- Introduce book-sharing techniques to support children’s language development
Eligibility Criteria
Delegates must have previously completed Bookbug for the Home training. Most Bookbug for the Home practitioners are working with families on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. If you are unsure if you have attended Bookbug for the Home training or a different Bookbug course, please get in touch with us before signing up to the course and we will check our records.
By registering for this training, you confirm that:
- You have read our eligibility criteria and you are eligible to apply for this training course
- You understand that if found to be ineligible, you will be asked to withdraw.
- In order to monitor the effectiveness of our training and the provision of Bookbug across Scotland, we require all trainees who have attended a funded Bookbug training course to provide us with feedback and share statistical information on an annual basis. To facilitate this process we will share your contact details with the Bookbug Coordinator in your Local Authority. Bookbug Coordinators and Scottish Book Trust will only contact you in relation to Bookbug training, local Bookbug programme updates and to request your feedback. By attending a funded Bookbug training course you are consenting to your data being shared in this way.
