Deepen your refuge in the Three Jewels of Buddhism and make progress on the path to enlightenment in this guided refuge retreat.

The Retreat

The foundation of the Buddhist way of life is to go for refuge – to Buddha, to guide us along the spiritual path to enlightenment; to Dharma (Buddha’s teachings) to protect us from fear and suffering; and to Sangha (those practising Buddha’s teachings) to inspire us, show a good example and to help us along the path to inner peace.

During this retreat, spend time developing the beautiful mind of refuge, fill your mind with inspiring blessings and discover how to free yourself from suffering and problems permanently.

Retreat Sessions

There are four sessions during the day. Each session lasts for an hour and a quarter and consists of brief teaching, guided meditations and chanted prayers sung in English.

THE TEACHER

Kelsang Chogma is the Resident Teacher for Ganden Kadampa Buddhist Centre in Halifax. She has been practising and teaching meditation and Kadampa Buddhism for over twenty years.

Chogma was ordained as a Buddhist nun in 2009 by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and serves as a wonderful example of the ordained way of life in the modern world. She is loved for her joyful enthusiasm and gentle skill in guiding meditations.

HOW THE COURSE WILL RUN

The retreat will be live-streamed via Youtube Live with video catch-up available for 7 days.

An hour before the first retreat session you will receive the Youtube Live links via email. These links are also for the video replay.
