Event description

Description

The Afghanistan and Central Asian Association( ACAA) works with Afghan and Central Asian refugees in the UK in integrating them into society. We provide ESOL classes, tutoring for children, women support groups and immigration advice, providing them with the skills to prosper in the UK.

We invite you to join us for a cultural evening to celebrate the charity's success and raise awareness of what we do at ACAA. It will also be beneficial for providing support for women refugees.

We will explore the issues with a panel of keynote speakers ranging from academics to representatives of INGO's. Our event will cover 3 separate issues:

1) The hardships women face getting to the UK

2) The challenges women face integrating into the UK

3) Radicalisation

At the end of each issue, we will open a Q&A session to the audience allowing them to ask any questions.

At the end of the conference, the moderator will give a brief summary of the main points that were brought up in the conference, giving a concluding statement.

Our confirmed speakers are Anna Musgrave from British Refugee Council, Shimaa Elsayed from Amnesty International and Zrinka Bralo from Migrants Organise. More speakers will be confirmed in the next couple of weeks.

We advise arriving at 17:15 for a prompt start at 17:30.
