Description

A Jewish Muslim text based dialogue in partnerships with An-Nisa Society & the Leo Baeck College

REFUGEES: FLEEING FROM - FLEEING TO

An unprecedented 65.3 million people have been displaced around the world due to war and persecution, according to the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) in 2016. As part of an effort to understand historical as well as contemporary experiences we will be exploring the following;

  • uour faith’s experiences of being refugees
  • uour faith’s responsibilities towards refugees
  • uour support for our own/our support for the ‘other’… is there a difference?

This dialogue group is a partnership between An-Nisa Society & the Leo Baeck College and has been running since 2003. We work in a text based way and provide a safe place for discussion and learning.

The workshop is for both women and men. You do not need to be an expert in your faith but a basic understanding will be useful. Basic information about both Islam and Judasim will be sent out to all participants prior to attending and a study book will be handed out on the day for the workshop itself.

Fees include a light lunch.

Workshop will be led by: Shaikha Halima Krausen & Rabbi Sybil Sheridan

THIS IS A BI-LATERAL WORKSHOP FOR JEWS & MUSLIMS ONLY

This event is in partnership with Alyth Synagoge
