This Masterclass is part of a series of masterclasses. Studies suggest that a good staff network can not only enhance the working life of staff member from a similar protected characteristics minority group but also support the organisation through consultation on Diversity and Inclusion strategies and provide peer to peer support for colleagues through formal systems like Mentoring, Coaching and mediation.

The aim of this session is to provide support and leadership to staff networks through group development and use of action learning sets.


By the end of this Master class you will have learned a number of practical steps that will enable you to address challenges that a staff network would face. The Masterclass will cover the following objectives:

  • Identify what a good staff network looks like

  • Identify what a poor performing staff network looks like

  • Hear what works for an established staff network

  • Recognise the importance of having a robust 'Terms of Reference'

  • Understand the links to patient care

  • Understand the role of a sponsor


You should attend this Masterclass if:

  • You are a member of a staff network

  • Your organisation wishes to develop a staff network
