Go Set Up has now begun and we are delighted at the enthusiasm from attendees to be involved. If you are thinking about starting a business, the Go Set Up programme will help you with planning, getting set up, marketing, funding and finance.

We welcome new attendees to join the programme and take this unique opportunity to learn and discuss your ideas with a qualified business advisor who will detail the key foundations to a successful and sustainable business.

Who can attend the Go Set Up programme?

This programme is aimed at pre-start-ups; participants who want to start up a business and are already taking steps to do so; participants who are transitioning from a current business into a new start-up; and/or participants wanting to move back into the workforce.

What does the programme offer?

A series of Go Set Up workshops will be run by a qualified business advisor and cover the core essentials of how to set up a business, including: business objectives, the market and marketing, legal aspects, set-up costs, pricing, financial forecasting and relationships to banks/funding.

After each workshop, the participants will be introduced to the Go Set Up Business Model Canvas (BMC) and provided with guidance on its completion. The Business Model Canvas is a business tool used to visualise, on a single page, all the building blocks that need to be considered if you are starting a business. Participants who complete their BMC will be offered an online review on their submission by a qualified business advisor.

What will participants gain from the Go Set Up programme?

By the end of the programme, participants will have had the opportunity to develop their business idea, research their product and audience, and create an initial business plan. They would also receive support in the registration of their business and/or created the new legal entity and advice to set up a bank account.

What are the criteria for joining the Go Set Up programme?

To join the Go Set Up programme, you will need to be living or based in the borough of Kingston, studying full time, or primarily planning to work in the borough. Register your interest for the Go Set Up programme here.

This course is fully funded. However to secure your place, a nominal fee of £30.00 will be required upon admittance to the programme. This fee will be reimbursed upon completion of four webinars.
