In this rapidly changing market, the HR function evolves just as rapidly. Common practice get outdated fast. Do we need to change the way we look at HR? What are the latest insights and experiences on people analytics and how to make most of cross-generational working? These questions are raised in a series of three webinars co-created with AWVN. In these interactive sessions our faculty together with an expert will discuss the latest insights and their practical experiences on the topics mentioned above. What works, which challenges are there? Or in other words, what will be the future of HR?

AWVN and RSM connect their knowledge and expertise

RSM Executive Education and AWVN (The Dutch General Employer Association) connect, in a strategic collaboration, the scientific perspective with what is happening in organisations right now.

In this webinar series, Dr Rebecca Hewett (RSM), Dr Colin Lee (RSM), and Dr Anne Burmeister (RSM) will explore topics that are relevant for HR leaders, HR executives or labour relations executives. They will be moderated by Brandon Kirby.

You will gain insight into the latest research on the future of HR, and the experiences of HR experts. What challenges do they face, and which obstacles need to be overcome to make the future of HR work? You will walk away inspired and with tips, ideas, tools and frameworks to contribute to the continuously improvement of the HR function.

Dr Rebecca Hewett

Rebecca (Bex) Hewett is an Assistant Professor of HRM and Academic Director of the MSc HRM at RSM. Her research focuses on how HR practices can best be implemented to enhance performance and well-being. Her PhD was on workplace rewards and motivation from Royal Holloway, University of London. Before that she worked as an HR professional for 10 years, including as Head of HR Operations for the UK’s communications regulator.

Dr Anne Burmeister

Anne Burmeister is an Assistant Professor of HRM at RSM. Before her PhD, Anne worked as a strategy consultant for Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where she built expertise on strategy and people and organization topics in various industries. Her research on knowledge transfer processes and social interactions at work with a focus on aging and age-diverse workforces, contributes to the more effective management of knowledge and diversity in organisations. She has obtained her PhD in Work and Organizational Psychology from Leuphana University Lueneburg (Germany) and spent two years as a Postdoc in Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Bern (Switzerland).

Dr Colin Lee

Colin Lee is an assistant professor at RSM. His expertise lies at the intersection of human resources, organizational behavior, IO psychology, and people analytics. He teaches HRM and People Analytics. In his research, he leverages computational tools for data extraction, normalization, and processing, to provide insights into how people can be matched to work and develop methods for the dissemination of academic knowledge in his fields of interest. He received his doctorate in 2016, with a dissertation on Big Data in management research – best known for the use of applicant data from over 40 companies to create a model for predicting the odds of being invited for a job interview. Colin’s work has since been twice recognized with a best paper award at the esteemed Academy of Management and has been published in leading journals, including Journal of Applied Psychology, Human Resource Management Review, and Journal of Vocational Behavior.
