About this Event

Growing and Developing the Visitor Economy within Derbyshire Phase II Business Grants Scheme

Following the success of the ‘Growing and Developing the Visitor Economy within Derbyshire’ project (Phase I), Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire has obtained an additional £1.2 million extension of funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Phase II will extend our current business support programme until March 2022 (subject to availability of funding) .

The visitor economy sector is facing its biggest challenge with Covid-19 affecting the entire industry. Government guidelines are changing daily, which is having a fundamental impact on consumer behaviour and their expectations. In response to this, we want to support those businesses that are looking to adapt their business by becoming able to take online bookings.

Insights are telling us that consumers are booking last minute with risk of local lockdowns and further lockdown measures at the front of their mind when thinking about a break or day out. Those businesses that can respond quickly to enquiries by offering online availability and an online bookable functionality, will benefit most from this change in behaviour.

Grants of £1,000 to £10,000* are available and businesses applying for the funding must meet the following criteria; be part of the visitor economy, located in Derbyshire, have less than 250 employees, have been trading for more than 12 months and have a business bank account.

The desired outcomes of the grants programme will be job creation (and safeguarding of jobs) and to support visitor economy businesses to grow and develop by accessing new markets.

Businesses will need to demonstrate how the grant funding will help them to become more competitive and support the area's wider visitor economy.

This grant is limited and will support up to 50% of the costs of towards a digital upgrade of your business as well as improving accessibility and cycle facilities.
