Description

DIT Ireland and DIT East Midlands are pleased to provide this exclusive opportunity for Midlands Engine rail suppliers to join a 1 day rail mission to Ireland for a 1-2-1 pre-approved meeting with Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) procurement officials, and a site visit.

About Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail)

Fleet and infrastructure:
Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail), headquartered in Inchicore, Dublin provides passenger and freight services operating between Dublin and Belfast, Sligo, Ballina, Westport and other key destinations, as well as regional and commuter services and the DART service. They are responsible for a network of 2400 km including 5100 bridges and 1240 level crossings and 14 tunnels. Details of the fleet can be found here and details of the infrastructure can be found here.

Investment and procurement:
Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) has published a range of investment plans covering resignalling, fleet renewal for the Intercity Railcar and centralised traffic control. In addition, they have published their plans for medium to long term development of the railway in their 2030 Rail Network Strategy Review. More about investment can be found here and details of procurement can be found here.

What happens next?

Once your registration is complete, an application form including short questionnaire asking for information about your products/services will be emailed to you – submission is required by 29/11/2017 at 12noon. Due to the tight timeframes, we are unable to provide any extensions.

Irish Rail will then select who they wish to meet based on this information, to ensure that interests are aligned. DIT will keep you informed and you should not commit to any flights until we confirm an offered appointment. Should you then decide to join the visit, further information on costs and travel arrangements are outlined below.
