Event description
Volunteers session. Helping to maintain the Cemetery

About this event

Holbeck Cemetery was opened in the 1800's and has a rich history. The site is no longer open for burials but is valuable as a green space and historic site visited by many people.

Volunteers are very welcome, and needed to prevent the cemetery from deteriorating. This involves all sorts of work for all abilities. One day we may be taking out saplings from graves, scything a meadow, weeding, fixing paths, cutting bushes to managing ivy on graves or counting wildlife, and we work in all weathers.

With current restrictions you should book your place and email heather.wagstaff@leeds.gov.uk to confirm your contact details for test and trace. You will be sent a risk assessment and some information about the likely work that will be carried out. This may change due to numbers of volunteers or weather conditions.

Thank you for your interest. I look forward to meeting you there.
