Who is this for?
It is a legal requirement that your staff understand how to spot and reduce food hazards and handle food properly. This 2 part course is for any food handler who needs to achieve a Level 1 Food Hygiene & Safety Certificate.
Learning Outcomes
On completion participants will:
- Understand the principals to food safety;
- Understand microbiological hazards;
- Be able to identify food poisoning and its control;
- Recognise contamination hazards and controls;
- Understand safe handling and storage of food;
- Be aware of personal hygiene;
- Recognise food pests and pest control;
- Understand the importance of cleaning and disinfection.
Course Duration – must be completed within 6 months
Part 1 – minimum 20 hours online completion of 10 modules
Part 2 - 30 Minutes closed book exam
Successful participants can progress to REHIS Intermediate Food Hygiene course.
