Description

Los Angeles County Museum of Art's most recent fashion exhibitionReigning Men: Fashion in Menswear, 1715–2015, explored the history of men’s fashionable dress from the eighteenth century to the present and re-examined the all-too-frequent equation of “fashion” with “femininity”.

Sharon S. Takeda, Senior Curator and Head of the Department of Costume and Textiles, LACMA, and co-curator of Reigning Men, will discuss the Museum’s recent menswear acquisitions, the concept and development of Reigning Men and the particular challenges of collecting and exhibiting menswear.

Presented by the Centre for Fashion Curation, London College of Fashion.

The talk is free but booking is essential.
