How can digital tools help us better reward, recognise and retain volunteers?

Join us for the second online launch in the new phase of the Digital in Volunteering Toolkit – a practical guide for Volunteer Managers to navigate today’s digital challenges.

This session explores how digital approaches can enhance reward and recognition in volunteering. We'll cover everything from day-to-day engagement tools within Volunteer Management Systems (VMS) to bespoke reward platforms, with space to discuss legal considerations, best practice, and real-world case studies.

Whether you’re looking to improve retention, foster deeper connections with volunteers, or reimagine your recognition strategy using digital tools, this session is for you.

What to Expect

  • Launch of the latest Toolkit element: Reward and Recognition in a Digital Age
  • Expert talks & case studies: Learn from organisations already innovating in this space

About the Toolkit

The Digital in Volunteering Toolkit was created to help volunteer managers "do digital" with confidence. Launched in 2024, Part 1 included five self-serve modules for building a digital roadmap.

Part 2 goes further – diving into key challenges in the volunteer journey, with stand-alone launches covering:

  • Marketing, communications & interoperability
  • Reward, recognition & incentives (this session!)
  • Digital for infrastructure orgs
  • Inclusion & accessibility
  • Compliance & quality
  • Task-based volunteering

Each element comes with a launch session packed with expert input, peer learning and practical tools.

About our launch events

New elements will be released via a dedicated online launch, featuring exclusive content and a range of well-informed and engaging guests. As well as a first opportunity to download the new toolkit element, these sessions will be great CPD and peer networking for Volunteer Managers looking to up their digital game or develop their digital chops. The opportunity to join our digital ‘Community of Practice’ fits within and around these sessions.

Launches will require booking and will be paid for events - a modest charge of £10 is levied to help authors cover the costs of the launch itself, as well as the hosting and developing of the Toolkit and the accompanying Community of Practice. CoP membership is and will remain free to all Volunteer Managers, giving you free access to all Toolkit products and a valuable peer network focusing on digital solutions.
