Event description

Description

Age range:

A drop off day for children aged 6-12 years old. Please note that this is a drop off only forest school day, if you would rather stay with your child then we do offer other parent and child sessions. Please contact us for more details.

What to expect from the day?

Do you need to find some time to do the dreaded Christmas shopping?....Yes?....Then why not drop your child/children off at our "All things Christmas" themed forest school day. While you are tackling the shops, your child will be having a fab time at our Reindeer, Snowmen and Santa's Creating Workshop, leaning how to safely use hand tools and sourcing their own natural materials to make their very own Rudolph the Reindeer to adorn your front garden, or maybe they will choose to make a wooden snowman or Santa, or both, the choice is theirs. There will be time spent making our camp fire, fire lighting and learning some cooking skills to create a snack for the group to share. Time also spent enjoying some hot chocolate and marshmallows around the camp fire whilst chatting to new friends, plus not forgeting some free time exploring, creating dens and playing games.

What to bring?

All your child needs to bring is a packed lunch and a drink. Please also wear appropriate outdoor clothes for the time of year, waterproofs and sturdy outdoor footwear.

Price:

£28.00 per child, includes all materials to make the creations to take home, hot chocolate or cold drink, marshmallows and a snack cooked over the fire.

Special Offer: We are offering an early bird deal for the first 10 places at a reduced price of £25.00, once these are taken the price will increase to the original price of £28.00.

FAQ's

Who are running the sessions and what are your ratio's?

We run our sessions to a high adult to child ratio, normally 1:5 ratio. This particular day will be run by two forest school level 3 trained leaders, both outdoor first aid certified, plus our regular volunteers, ensuring your child has enough time to learn how to make their Christmas woodwork items at a pace that is suited to their individual needs. All our volunteers and forest school leaders hold current and relevant DBS certificates. These can be produced on request.

Where is Seeley Copse?

Seeley Copse is a private copse owned by Goodwood Estates, designed for educational use and forest school experiences.

What are the facilities?

We have use of basic compost toilets, running water and hand washing facilities. There is also a large free car park for numerous vehicles.

My child has food allergies

If your child has food allergies, please let us know in advance so we can discuss your childs individual needs and that we can cater for them on the day.
