What is breathwork?
Breathwork involves a variety of breathing exercises and techniques designed to improve mental, emotional, and physical well-being. We consciously control the breath to influence the body’s physiological and emotional states.
What are the main benefits of breathwork?
The health benefits of breathwork are vast. These include improved sleep quality, deep relaxation, emotional release, energy enhancement, reducing stress, anxiety and depression.
Everyone welcome whether you are a complete beginner or experienced breathwork practitioner.
This breathwork technique has the power to:
- reduce stress, anxiety and depression
- awaken dormant parts of the brain
- enhance creativity and problem solving
- create heightened states of consciousness
- improve brain function and mind power
- stimulate stem cell rejuvenation for anti-aging and longevity
- reduce oxidative stress
- improve oxygen efficiency
- lower heart rate and blood pressure.
I am looking forward to guiding you through this transformational experience.
Important Information
Rhythmic breathing is safe for everyone but there are some instances where we would recommend not doing the breath retention sequences, these include:
• Severe/ critical diseases or infections if it impairs your ability to breathe.
• Severe uncontrolled hypertension (usually after a heart attack)
• Organ failure or late-stage terminal illness
• Pregnancy
• Epilepsy, a pacemaker or irregular heartbeat (exception your doctor gives you permission)
• Some conditions e.g. tinnitus and hernia can be aggravated by the breath holds, but not common, in this circumstance we recommend minimising the duration of the breath holds. Using a chin lock if seated is also recommended.
